Wayman's Story
Life
It's been quite some time. Some of you may remember me, others may not (or may not care to). Rest assured, I remember all of you. Well...most of you, anyway. After a stint in the Navy, I took the very loooooooong road to completing my degree (finally!) in Secondary Education. I'll be graduating from Evergreen State in Tacoma. In the meantime, I have a position at the Hilton Seattle, a wife and two beautiful, rusty-butt girls, and the hazards of running a Public Access show to keep me well occupied.
I finally made my way to Lagos, Nigeria last summer (I'm currently tracking down my family line). I found some clues, but it looks like I'll be heading south to Ghana to get answers, hopefully this summer if I can afford it. We got our first townhome in Federal Way for a STEAL. I just turned THIRTY-FIVE in March (GAG!). Kinda cool/not-so-cool.
Check me on Public Access. For details, hit up my Announcements. Hotep.
School
High school sucked, plain and simple. I'm well aware of my penchant for running my mouth well beyond anyone's particular tolerance level, but I don't think it was any sort of justification for they way people behaved or how I was treated during that time. It's why I don't and will not attend any reunions. My temptation to pull a "Columbine" would be hard pressed to resist.

ns and even fewer friends that I had, I have to say that I had a great respect and admiration of Mr. Gary Davis. He had a great understanding of Afrikan history and was the one who told me that Afrikan history was "actually the missing pages of WORLD history".
If I could do it all over again, I would have tried to take AP courses in middle school, so that I could go from 8th grade straight to college. Of course, I was so depressed and withdrawn that my grades were atrocious. Maybe that wouldn't have worked. Hindsight being 20/20, however...
I think my best memories would be everytime I put on that purple, gold and white uniform, slipped my mouthpiece into that baritone horn and marched my butt out there on Memorial Field. Marching Band (and of course, Mr. Acox's barking orders) made all the insanity in my adolescent life seem bearable.
College
Hell, pure hell. Especially since I decided to finish up the last year and a half with a wife and two girls. I must have been crazy. Or maybe I felt life wasn't presenting much of a challenge. The truth's probably somewhere in between. Well, in any case I'll have a degree soon and get my butt in the classroom.
I'm looking forward to teaching history sooooooo bad. That's assuming I can find work with the school district being 35 million in the hole. Wherever I end up, it's gonna be crazy...
